Setting up Mac OSX's Mail client

For initial email setup

When first running Mail on OSX you will be presented with a screen asking for your initial email setup.

Fill in the relevant information as in the example picture remembering to replace yourdomainname.com with the domain name you have purchased and smtp.yourISP.com with your ISP's outgoing SMTP mail server. For example if you are dialling up with BT you might enter smtp.btinternet.com or mail.btopenworld.com. If you are unsure of what your SMTP server is then ask your ISP or visit their website and check their FAQs or technical support section.

For new mail accounts

To setup an additional account in Mail, select the preferences option from the file menu.

You will then be presented with this screen.

(If the accounts option is not already selected, then select it to see a similar screen to the one above)

Now to add an account click on the + button in the bottom left corner to add a new account.

You should now see this screen.

Now enter your account name and password. Your account name will be catchall@yourdomainname.com and the password will have been provided when you set up your account. If you have lost this information please email info@toasting.co.uk and we will re-send.

Remember to replace yourdomainname.com with the actual domain name you have bought and smtp.yourISP.com with your ISP's outgoing SMTP mail server. If you are unsure of what your SMTP server is then ask your ISP or visit their website and check their FAQs or technical support section.
